It is with pleasure that we welcome you to the Staten Island Section of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. (NCNWSI). Advocating the national mission of NCNW and as a community-based section, we aim to be a presence in the community and fill the gaps where needed. As a voluntary non-profit organization, we vow with the national organization to “take urgent action around education, health, economic empowerment and public policy in an effort to build a stronger Black America.”
Your membership helps NCNW:
Promote and recognize leadership among women of color.· Champion women’s rights and civil rights.· Reduce health disparities among communities of African descent· Increase the educational attainment of families of African descent· Work toward the economic empowerment of women of African descent· Celebrate and strengthen the families of African descent· Reach out to women in need in Africa and around the world.
